Voice Coaching By Rebecca Jones
I am using the term “voice coaching” broadly to include teaching singing, correcting diction in several languages, enhancing individual sound, self-confidence, poise and choosing repertoire appropriate to a student’s personality, voice type and goals. While vocalises aide in breath coordination and sound enhancement, I also encourage creativity and emotional expression. Students feel respected and safe in my studio environment. Emphasis is on coordinating “the mix” and awareness of relaxation and engagement. Repertoire may include classical and romantic era songs to gain control of phrasing, breath, and vowel placement. If a student chooses a pop song, natural style and language are adapted. Appropriate vocal techniques are studied to sing Broadway showtunes.
